NameIndx re-builds PCBoard's PCBNDX index files using the user names from the
USERS file as well as the aliases in the NameChng alias file(s).
This eliminates two problems with NameChng:
1) Msgs left to an alias do NOT affect mail waiting flags
2) Msgs entered TO alias get "Name not found" prompt
Using NameIndx daily in your event eliminates these problems completely.
NameIndx should also be run anytime after PCBSM updates the index files, as it
will usually remove the alias entries.
Note that running NameIndx has a possibly confusing side-effect, though it is
not detrimental to alias security in the least. A user will be able to logon
using their alias name or their real name, it makes no difference, as there
are two index entries pointing to the same record. BUT, the user may *think*
they have logged on under their alias name when in fact the board recognizes
them as their real name.
The format for calling NameIndx is:
NameIndx
As of version 1.5ß6, NameIndx requires NO parameters
NameIndx REQUIRES the file NAMEINDX.CFG exist in the default directory. This
file contains the names (with full path if necessary) of all the alias files
you use, one filename listed per line.
